Exercise improves your learning abilities 🤓 - especially regular, aerobic exercise (the kind that gets your heart pumping ❤️✊ and gets you good and sweaty 💦) appears to boost the size of the hippocampus which is the area of the brain that is involved with learning and memory. Resistance- and balance training have shown to have a similar effect ✌🏼! .

🇬🇧: Other than being a member of 5 different gyms/clubs where you do some sort of exercise/training (2 mainstream gyms, rock wall climbing center, and 2x crossfit/weight lifting centers) I also spent a lot of time running and was also taking yoga classes twice a week. Too much 🤔? I think we all agree that my exercise addiction went a little overboard . After a quick visit to the doctors 👨‍⚕️ thinking I was having an ear-/throat infection (due to sore throat, ear pain, dizziness, tiredness, feeling cold all the time, belly aches, acne, and forgetting stuff - clearly I was having symptoms that were not ear- and throat related... 🤦🏼‍♀️) he told me that I was working myself a teeeny bit too hard (okay, maybe to fucking hard, pardon my French 😬) regarding exercise and control over food on top of finishing my education, work, moving to a new place and relationship issues. Even though i didn't - and still don't -  feel stressed, my body was giving clear signals that I should slow down and take a break once in a while 🏖 and not work out twice daily, 7 days a week. So now I'm down to running and climbing + occasional yoga and meditation 🏃🏼‍♀️🏔🙏🏼. I've no longer got 5 cards, but 2 ✌🏼. And I've decided to take my bodies signals seriously ☺️. What I've learned: Too much of a good thing can turn out being a bad thing 💁🏼. #lessonlearned #listentoyourbody #physiolife

I've chosen to set focus on the other benefits exercise, because let's face it: weight loss is not the most important thing in this world. The 1st reason I'd like to focus on is that it lifts your mood. This is due to the release of endorphins - powerful chemicals produced in your brain and CNS - that give you a sense of pleasure, satisfaction and make you feel good ✌🏼😄. Heavy weightlifting or intense aerobic activity that includes periods of sprinting or increased exertion will trigger the greatest response of endorphins and give you that "runners high"/great mood boost!

🇩🇰: 50 GRUNDE TIL AT TRÆNE der ikke har fokus på vægttab 🙌🏼💁🏼. Jeg har valgt at sætte fokus på andre fordele ved at træne, for lad os lige se i øjnene, at vægttab ikke er det vigtigste i verden. Den første grund jeg har valgt at fokusere på er, at du kommer i bedre humør af at træne. Grunden til dette er, at dit centralnervesystem og hjerne udskiller endorfiner - hormoner, der har samme virkning på kroppen som bl.a morfin - der giver en tilfredsheds- og forbøjelsesfølelse, der altså medvirker, at du tænker mere positivt og kommer i bedre humør ✌🏼😄. Især tung styrketræning eller høj-intensitets, aerob træning der bl.a inkluderer sprint eller i hvert fald udtalt anstrengelse fra din side af udløser det største udskillelse af endorfiner og altså hermed det bedste humør 💃🏼!

🇬🇧: My first physio-related post 🙌🏼💁🏼. Focus has changed, since the focus on weight loss just wasn't working for me. It was literally draining me from energy. So here's a post about my work 🤓. I'm currently hired to help with a PhD focusing on physiotherapy for asthmatic patients with dysfunctional breathing 😗💨. Yes, physios also have exercises for your lunges/respiratory system 😅😏. More on the importance of proper breathing to come, so stay tuned ✌🏼. #physiolife .
🇩🇰: Min første fys-relaterede post 🙌🏼💁🏼. Fokus er ændret, da hele vægttabsfokuset blev for drænende. Det sugede praktisk talt alt livet ud ad mig, på trods af, at jeg forsøgte at være så positiv som mulig. Så her er en arbejds-post i stedet 🤓. Jeg arbejder for tiden som fys på et PhD-projekt omhandlende fysioterapi til astmapatienter med dysfunktionel vejrtrækning 😗💨. Jep, fysioterapeuter har øvelser til alt - også dine lunger 😅😏.
